Learned an important lesson in being flexible and working with what you’ve got during this particular shoot. We had originally set out to a location outside of Sacramento but got stuck in major traffic. So being the cool, calm and collected (and not at all road-ragey) person that I am, I took the nearest exit and said FORGET IT…or something along those line. Ended up driving around and improvising the shoot, looking desperately for good lighting and a worthy backdrop. But luck was on our side after all and again the spring blooms came to the rescue. Shout out to my girl Bogdana for just going with the flow and being stunning no matter what the setting.
I wanted to share this shot not only because she looks beautiful but also because I snapped it on a whim. You may not be able to tell from the fierceness but it was actually freezing outside and poor Desi was literally shaking from the cold. And yet somehow I was still able to capture the beauty, even with the struggling. I think that’s one big part of what appeals to me about photography: you never really know what you’ll create and often times the best pictures just happen. And of course, that kind of cheesy wisdom can be freely applied to life, if you so choose.
(This is the look I give everyone on Monday mornings before my coffee.) JUST KIDDING, I wish grumpy me was this fierce. I hope you all have a great week and do that cool thing you’ve been meaning to do but haven’t yet.
It has been very difficult to catch a few moments of clear weather to shoot but luckily I caught a break! The American river may be flooded but the trails are beautiful and bursting at the seams with green lush grass. Shoutout to my lovely Bogdana for braving the mud and mosquitos for me, she looked ethereal in the forest setting. 🌿
