Exploring Midtown.

Photo Mar 25, 3 22 40 PM.jpgI recently took over Explore Midtown’s Instagram for a weekend and it rekindled my passion for capturing Sacramento’s uniqueness. It made me so very happy to show my friends from Southern California some of the great things our state’s capitol has to offer. Here I captured them with yet another beautiful home near Temple Coffee in Midtown; post coffee and mellow strolls in the sunshine – the image of pure bliss. I always have an eye out when I’m walking  around in search for my dream home…

Sneak Peak: PURPOSE

Just a little look inside of a project I recently worked on with City Scout Magazine! Blogger Libier Reynolds and PURPOSE shop owner Rachel Dee Minyard looking so fabulous it just had to be shared. I am very excited to be getting back into writing and looking forward to what my collaboration with City Scout will bring. You can read the entire piece here!

How stunning are these two?! I stayed up way past my bedtime editing these pictures because I could not get enough of them! Who knew such magic could take place in a random patch of grass in West Sac. Local florist Sammy of Bloomonade was kind enough to prepare some beautiful flowers for our shoot and they were the perfect touch. As it is becoming apparent, bohemian/feminine aesthetics are my go-to and there’s nothing like a fresh flower crown to complete that vibe.

I love working together to grow and BLOOM as a community (hehe see what I did there…) For any and all of your floral needs, Sammy is your gal! 🙂

As someone who is very vocal about my hometown pride, it makes sense that Heart would get a feature, being one of the trendiest local boutiques here in Sacramento. I love shopping of all kinds but I definitely feel a lot better when I help support a local business. This is a shot from when I was fortunate enough to work with them for their festival fashion feature. If you’re still needing the finishing touches for your Coachella outfit or just something for date night, go check them out!

I recently discovered this gem of a venue in Winters, CA and I managed to score a photography slot during their Spring Photographer’s Invitational. You may not expect it while you’re driving down the deserted country roads leading to it, but this is one of the most stunning locations to have a wedding/event in Northern California. Tucked away in the peaceful country side with a perfectly manicured garden and serene view, this spot is truly incredible. Had a picnic and a shoot with the girls and it was honestly one of the best ways to spend a Sunday! Definitely check it out if you’re in the market for a venue or maybe just pay it a visit for a mellow Sunday.

Friday Feature: Chalk and Sawdust.

Processed with VSCO with q8 presetI’ve said before, but seriously it such a joy to be surrounded by creative minds that understand my quirky artistic ways. This Friday’s feature is my very own Madison’s Etsy shop Chalk and Sawdust, that produces some of the hippest handmade crafts, personalized and made for each client. I appreciate the attention to detail and it is undeniable that she’s got some skills! The picture shows a gift Madison gave me for Valentines Day, that she made herself of course. Not only is it beautiful but also the words resonate with me deeply. Take a look and bookmark for all of your future gifting or home decorating needs 🙂 Plus her instagram has even more cool stuff!

I generally do not spend much time crying over an hour of sleep lost but it has been a struggle this week, guess I’m not as resilient as I once was…LOL. But on a literal lighter note, this means more daylight for picture-taking! I hate being a slave to the weekends so I am excited to see what these newfound photography opportunities will produce. Here’s a fun house I snapped while driving in Downtown Sacramento the other day, enjoying the 5pm sunshine (I was not moving, all legal and safe don’t worry).

Sacramento in Bloom.

Processed with VSCO with c5 presetSpringtime is my favorite: the trees are in bloom, the weather warms up and the sun shines. Oh, and my birthday comes along, I like that too. All of the blooming trees and flowers have had my creative juices flowing! Couples, portraits and fashion have been on the menu and this season has proven to be an amazing backdrop. Here you can see my favorite couple looking perfectly in love in Capitol Park, Sacramento.

Friday Feature: G.

Processed with VSCO with c5 presetThis is the first installment of a new weekly feature I plan on developing, just to showcase highlights of my daily life i.e. great models/friends/food/places to go etc. I am happy to feature Garrett this week as I have been on a mission to find more male models. He’s been like a brother to me for years so our shoot was very laid back, just sipping on some beers at Fox and Goose and snapping some pics in between (my favorite kind of shoot!) Definitely planning on forcing more of my male friends to grace my blog, stay tuned ladies and gents.
